Information

The pinnacle of northern hemishphere rugby will be returning to the Millennium Stadium for the fifth time when the final of the Heineken Cup will be staged in Cardiff.

Leinster defeated Ulster 42-14 in 2011 in an all Irish affair while Munster ruled supreme in 2008 when brushing aside Toulouse 16-13.

Munster had earlier been crowned champions of Europe when repelling the challenge of Biarritz Olympique 23-19 in 2006 while Leicester Tigers claimed the second of their titles in 2002 when beating Munster 15-9.

Travel

CARS - P & R sites accessed from J29 & J33 of the M4 - J29 - Pentwyn P&R / J33 - Cardiff City Stadium P&R
Pentwyn P&R (WHITE CAR PARK)
Drop off point will be: Churchill Way

CCFC P&R (YELLOW CAR PARK)
Drop off point will be: Tresillian Way north, at rear of Railway Station
Cost £10/car

All P&R customers should be advised to follow the signage to the available site at the time of their arrival.
The car parks will have a staff presence from 9:00am, will open at 9:00am, with the first bus at 9:00am. The last bus will leave the pick-up point at 9:00pm, with the car park closing at 9:30pm.

COACHES - Coach parking cost - £15 / coach
Cardiff Airport Coaches will access the city from the west via the A4232 and use Taffs Mead Embankment for drop-off / Pick-up.
General spectators Coaches will leave the M4 at J32 and follow signs to the dedicated coach parking area in Sophia Gardens (cost £15/coach) - in addition any event car parking in Sophia Close will cost £10 / car.

ROAD CLOSURES

There will be a full stadium city centre road closure from 3:00pm - 8:00pm
For a full road closure the following roads are closed-
Kingsway from its junction with North Rd / Boulevard de Nantes to its junction with Duke St.
Cowbridge Road East from its junction with Cathedral Rd to its junction with Westgate St.
Tudor St from its junction with Clare Rd to its junction with Wood St (access for residents & traders will be permitted via Fitzhammon Embankment)
Plantagenet St & Beauchamp St from their junctions with Despenser Place to their junctions with Tudor St (access for residents & traders will be permitted)
The following roads will be closed in their entirety: - Duke St, Castle St, High St, St.Mary St, Caroline St, Wood St, Central Sq, Westgate St, Quay St, Guildhall Pl, Golate, Park St, Havelock St & Scott Rd.
The route to the front of the rail station, Station Approach in Central Sq from its junction with Wood St, will be closed from 10am - 10pm , with access for buses to the bus station being maintained outside of the full road closure times.
In addition from 10am - 3pm the following route will be closed to facilitate the 'Fan Zone'-
Kingsway from its junction with North Rd / Boulevard de Nantes to its junction with Duke St.
Castle St from its junction with Westgate St to its junction with Kingsway.

Between 6am & 9:00pm, to accommodate airport coaches the following road will be closed to through traffic-
Taffs Mead Embankment and Pendyris Street, permitting access for residents.
