AUCTION TO ADD TO TSUNAMI RELIEF CARDIFF FIGURE
CHILDREN’S ART WORK REACHES FOR THE STARS
THANKS A MILLION!

A special auction of artwork created for Tsunami Relief Cardiff, signed by the artists involved in the concert will go live at 9am on the morning of Thursday 27th January 2005. Visit the BBC's Tsunami Relief Cardiff Minisite to enter: www.bbc.co.uk/tsunamireliefcardiff. £8,042.00 has already been raised by the auction which opened last Wednesday.

The Millennium Stadium has staged the biggest and most important concert of its five year life – Tsunami Relief Cardiff.
The special fund-raising event, which featured many of the UK’s best known and loved bands, raised over £1m for stricken families in south-east Asia. 61,000 fans turned up to join the party in the Welsh capital and enjoying more than six hours of top flight entertainment and joining the rest of the world in raising money for those left with so little after the tsunami disaster on Boxing Day.

Every £100 raised will buy a tent in which a displaced family can live or pays for emergency food parcels to feed 60 families for one month; £30 will buy enough water purification tablets to give 320 children a litre each; £25 will buy plastic shelter and food parcels for two families for two weeks; £15 will buy a hot meal for 125 people in emergency feeding centres. The tsunami left almost 150,000 dead, more than one third of which were children, and at least 5 million people without food and water. It is estimated that around 3 million are homeless.

Profits from the concert will now go to the DEC's Tsunami Appeal Fund. From all involved in staging the event, a big thank you!

Event merchandise is still available. T-shirts are £10, Caps £7, Programme £5 and Poster £3. All profits are being donated to the fund. You can purchase online by clicking here, or over the phone by calling 029 2082 2040.
